URGENT APPEAL
THE BLACKWATER JUDO CLUB (Maldon) IS CURRENTLY SUPPORT FUNDRAISING FOR A YOUNG GIRL CALLED IZZY WHO IS 5 AND NEEDS AN OPERATION FOR CEREBRAL PALSY BEFORE SHE IS 6 TO GIVE HER A CHANCE OF A NORMAL LIFE.

Concerned age, lack of fitness,general health,or previous injuries might mean that judo is not for you? then come along for a chat and to watch a training session. You will see that at Blackwater Judo Club all ages and level of fitness do safely enjoy judo. You might not be the next Olympic champion but our judo is for anyone who is prepared to work and play with commitment.
Visiting judoka are more than welcome,but we do need to see proof of insurance and/or an up-to-date license
Retired from judo (or any other martial art) and want to get back on the mat then join us but please let us know your previous level of experience.
Judo spirit never dies,but may need refocusing.

Blackwater JC (Maldon) members train once or twice a week.
Saturday mornings and/or Thursday evenings. Students pay £2.00 per session only when training –plus annual licence/third party insurance currently £10 per year
Foundation Class –For all beginners under 10 or until they have been graded to Junior Yellow Belt. Minimum age 6 years
Junior Class –are mixed ability training for children and teenagers from 6 to 16. Includes:
Under 10′s who have graded to yellow belt,and so moved up from Foundation Class
And all over 10′s –includes beginners and more experienced judokas
Senior Classes are a mix of men,ladies and older juniors (currently no upper age restrictions).
Senior Judoka are encouraged to help supervise and teach junior judoka. Senior Instructors are CRB checked.
Parents are encouraged to keep fit by helping to put out the mats and clear them away at the end of training.

Thursday Evenings - At Blackwater Leisure Centre,Park Drive,Maldon,Essex CM9 5UR (01621 851898)
- Juniors and Foundation Class –start at 6:15 pm.
- Seniors –start at 7:15 pm(mainly Kata practise) and finish at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday Mornings - At West Maldon Community Centre,Sunbury Way,Maldon.
- Seniors –start at 9:30 am.
- Juniors and Foundation Class –start at 10:30 am and Finish at 11.30 a.m.
The Foundation Class (All beginners under 10-years of age - Minimum starting age 6-years ) is organised by a set of skilled Foundation team coaches. It focuses on making Judo fun whilst teaching the pure basics of Judo and Judo terminology using a pre-determined set of training plans . Foundation judoka wear normal judo gi’s but with a horizontally red and white striped belt. When a student has mastered the basics s/he will move into the main stream group. This class is proving very popular so at times it may be necessary operate a waiting list. If you contact Sensei John he will advise you.
